Hello, 2016.

'Ello. Well, what can I say. It's been ten months since I last wrote on here, my-my, how time flies. I'm not going to apologise, I always seem to start posts with an apology for my absence. I've been really flipping busy. And when I wasn't, I had nothing to write about, so I kinda just left this website alone to gather virtual dust. It's 2016 now, and even though we're not even two months in, it's been a pretty rough one so far. It certainly hasn't all been bad, though. No doubt it won't be all that easy of a year, and at one point a couple of weeks back, I was really close to calling this one a write-off. But the fact that we aren't even two whole months into the year means I can't give up this early. So what should I talk about? Well, right now, not a lot. I'm trying to focus on my degree, but there's a hell of a lot going on around it that's making it quite the challenge. However, at risk of this turning into a long, boring

Hello dear readers! Firstly, as you can see, I'm back. Yep, that's right. After quite a significant wait I now have a working computer. In all fairness, I have had for two weeks now, but you know. University and stuff. If you've been to this blog before, chances are you know I'm in a band. If you don't, that's okay. Let me kindly point you in the right direction - https://www.facebook.com/theempiresband1 We had a gig on Monday, and it was great! I just have a few thoughts that I thought I'd share, in case anybody was interested. Look at us go! So we played at The Maze in Nottingham, which we have done a few times now. It's a decent little venue, albeit a bit dingy giving you a sense you're playing in some basement somewhere. Maybe that's the idea... Anyway, it's a pretty good night out, you get to see 5 acts in one night all for £3. Having said that, you're taking somewhat of a chance if you've never heard of any of the others acts on

The worst day of my life ever.

But not really I guess.  Today, rather last night my computer died. Now, if you don't know me, you probably won't know that just about my entire life revolves around my computer. I use it for all my work, gaming, YouTube, Twitter, etc, etc. So you can imagine my despair when I return to use it last night and it doesn't power on. Apologies now to those of you who won't have any idea what I'm on about. And apologies if the format and such of this post goes haywire, I don't think I've ever blogged from my phone! I'm pretty good with technology, I usually know what I'm doing. But this one honestly stumped me. So I turned to the trusty Overclockers UK forums for help and, after some very useful information from some people who're much more in the know than me, I had a list of solutions.  Tested my power supply, and it's fine. (thank goodness.) If my power supply had gone, there's a chance it could have taken the whole system with it, which wou

Alright? Good to hear. It's been a week, and I'm back look, writing again, for you. Aren't I good? I hope you enjoyed last weeks post, because we're going to carry on this week. Please do bear with me, I'm slowly trying to break myself into the habit of updating this website on a more regular basis. I figure if I can get something up once a week I can slowly start doubling that. And so on. But anyway, let's get to it. So last week I wrote a little about my experiences getting settled into university life. I've had a good think about what I'll talk about this week, and there are so many different aspects I want to cover, it's really hard to do one without talking about another. So we'll see where it goes! I remember being told on an open day back in July 2012 that there are so many different opportunities you'll get at uni, and it's entirely up to you to make the most of them. I'll be honest in saying that there were so many more thing

I'm back, come read!

*blows cobwebs off of keyboard* Hello there! *blows food crumbs off of keyboard* So it's been a while, huh? I'm still here, don't worry. Maybe the last you heard of me was that my blog turned one, exciting right? Well that was back in July. It's now September, and it's high time we got back into the habit of writing and updating this blog, don't you think? I'm all set in my little corner, see. I feel like nearly every single one of these entries starts off with an apology, so you're not getting one this time. So there. The simple fact is, my summer has been filled with so many wonderful moments and trips and this great holiday to the South of France... Or maybe that was a dream I had. In actual fact I spent my summer working my backside off, or at least that's what it feels like. Yep. That's right. I took on an actual job, doing actual work, earning an actual wage. Exciting, right? I'll not bore you to death with the details, but

(Belated) First Birthday!

Hello there to anybody who may be lurking around these parts! Yes, that's right. As the title says, my blog is now 1 year old. On the 12th of July, in fact. So yes it's a few days late, and yes it's been a while since I've even typed Blogger into my address bar. My apologies. Happy Birthday to AnthonyTalks.co.uk There's not a great deal to say, except a massive thank you to everybody who has read, commented, shared and been involved with this site in any way whatsoever. I honestly don't even know what made me decide to start a blog in the first place, but I'm glad I did. And as much as I do appreciate everything you readers have done, I can't help but feel I've let you down a little. This will be my 21st post in 12 months. So sure, that averages almost 2 posts a month, but it's kind of not. So it's time for a change. (He says, for perhaps the 7th time so far.) I will get back into blogging. You'll see. So thank you. See you soon! - Anthon

Inching ever closer...

'Sup? Hello to you all, and welcome back to my blog. I bet you'd forgotten about me, hadn't you? Well, I'm still here but I've been so incredibly busy that finding time, or quite frankly the motivation to write something has been somewhat difficult. So enough excuses, here I am. Just over one week away from finishing for Easter, and oh my goodness I really cannot wait. It feels like this term at uni has been such a long one, and whilst this is week only week 10, I'm ready for a break. The same thing happened last term, in the week or two approaching Christmas my brain slowly started to just give up ever so slightly, leaving my wondering if I'm actually cut out for university life. I am, don't worry. Each time I finish a piece of work it's like a small glimmer of hope that the end is near, and I can't wait. I really can't. It'll be kind of sad once the year is over, because by the end of May my first year will be well and truly over. I hav
